Right now, we're putting the final touches on our community kitchen in Nakuru, built on our own plot of land in the beautiful hills outside the city. We plan to cook up delicious and nutritious hot lunches, and deliver them to children at local schools — but we need your help to make this a reality.

In July, we spent a day visiting local schools and hearing from headteachers about the children in their community. We heard stories of great need: children coming to school hungry, fainting in class, or staying out of school to find food. One headteacher told us…
“Today we had a case of a family where the kids were absent. I followed up with the parents to ask why, and they told me there was no food in the house so she allowed the kids to stay home from school to go and beg instead.””

In the last 16 years we've provided over half a million free schools thanks to people like you, and know from a whole generation of kids how transformative they can be. With a free school meal, kids are encouraged to come to school knowing they have a hot, tasty plate of food waiting for them — providing the energy to concentrate in class, and helping them grow happily and healthily.
Over the last five years, we’ve been building our community kitchen so we can increase the number of children we’re helping — and now, we’re finally ready to launch. But we can’t start until we know we have reliable funds coming in every month to cover the costs of food, cooks, and delivering meals.
